Minnesota is the latest state to use the geocaching craze to attract visitors to their state parks. They are inviting residents to discover the challenge of geocaching and how to use the technology of a global positioning system when exploring Minnesota state parks’ history and hidden treasures through an introductory class to be offered at Afton State Park on Aug. 17, at 10 a.m.
The public is invited to participate in the “Geocaching History Challenge.”
Participants can then chose to walk the two- mile multi-cache course or take a shorter walk to test their training. A limited number of GPS units will be available.
